No matter where you live, having an artificial Christmas tree fits into any climate. Still, flocking your faux tree is a must to turn your dream of having a white Christmas into the best reality. While you can buy a flocked artificial Christmas tree, you may already have a regular faux tree.
You do not want to spend a fortune on another tree as yours still looks fine. So, how can you do all the flocking? Grab some coffee and cookies to learn how to apply power in a DIY way to make as if fresh snow has fallen on your tree.
One thing is for sure it will be more economical than buying a new flocked faux tree.
The First Step is To Mist Your Tree
Grab a spray bottle in the home and fill it up with water. Then mist sections of the tree as spraying large areas will not work. The reason is that the water dries before you even start flocking.
Second Step Grab a Strainer or Your Snow Paint
Depending on what you use, this step can differ. For example, if you have bought some faux snow in a can, you will start with spraying. But if you choose powder or a box of fake snow, you must get your strainer out.
Start lifting the sieve with the snow above the misted tree section and start to sift with gradual movements. It will look like the snow is falling on the tree, and it will be loads of fun. The water-sprayed sections will help the snow adhere to the branches.
Third Step Surround Each Section of Your Tree
While flocking, ensure that you surround the whole artificial Christmas tree on every branch. Then, while sifting, you can spray water, and for more flocked snow branches, you can add more water and flock to give it a build-up.
Step Four Leave Your Snow to Dry
One thing you can expect to happen is that your artificial Christmas tree will dry slower if you have layers of snow. Even if you use a spray can type of snow and spray it lightly, you can expect it to take up to four hours to dry.
Time to Move Your Tree Into Its Rightful Place
We recommend leaving the tree to stand overnight to dry if you have a light or thick snow covering. Then move your artificial Christmas tree into its rightful standing place. Next comes the exciting thing: decorate your tree with festive ornaments from garlands, baubles, tinsel, and more. Another helpful tip is to decorate your tree after adding the lights, as it gives a significant effect when the lights are on.
